Chanda Bennett, PhD

Programs & Partnerships Director 

Dr. Chanda Bennett is a conservation ecologist. She develops collaborative partnerships with various departments in city and state government, corporate, cultural, and conservation organizations promoting and advancing diversity in the sciences. Chanda engages in building multi-cultural community networks, promoting citizen involvement through environmental awareness and protection initiatives, and engaging new generations with real-world exposure in the sciences. She is a strong advocate for the equitable inclusion of parks in urban spaces and is dedicated to reconnecting people to nature.

Chanda earned her M.A. in Conservation Biology and a M.S. and Ph.D. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology with a Certificate in Environmental Policy from Columbia University.  She holds a B.A. in Natural Resources from Cornell University.
