Fatima Shama

Fatima Shama is the Head of Diversity & Inclusion at Bloomberg for North and South America. Prior to joining Bloomberg, Fatima served as the CEO & Executive Director of The Fresh Air Fund from 2015 to 2021, where she worked with and for children and families across New York City’s low-income communities. In 2009, Mayor Bloomberg appointed Fatima to serve as NYC’s Commissioner of Immigrant Affairs, where she was charged with creating a robust integration strategy on the economic, social, and civic opportunities for immigrant New Yorkers. Prior to her role as commissioner, Fatima served as Mayor Bloomberg’s Senior Policy Advisor on Education. Fatima serves on the Boards of Coro Leadership New York, the New York Immigration Coalition, the National Summer Learning Association, and serves as a Trustee for the Pinkerton Foundation.
